If you like the Illinois GOP, you’ll love Mitt Romney, Part 11.
In the past twenty years I’ve heard only two Illinois state legislators speak at length and in depth on an issue – former state senator Steve Rauschenberger and retiring state senator Chris Lauzen. Chris is currently running for Kane County Board Chairman, by the way.
I’m sure there are a few others who might be able to get into details without notes, but it’s also a pretty safe bet that over 99% of Illinois voters have never heard a Republican office holder do that.
Is it any surprise then that GOP Platform principles haven’t been advanced here in Illinois? Similarly, forget Mitt Romney’s memorized staff written talking point driven speeches. He’s never put together a video like this one from Newt Gingrich:
