Last month I mentioned the new book by Jason Mattera called “Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation.” Since then I’ve had the opportunity to read through it and sure enough it’s another sign of hope. When there are young people out there who can help clear up the confusion within their own generation, you know change is possible.
In his first chapter he tackles media bias – and quotes Time magazine’s Joe Klein:
There aren’t very many people-ebony, ivory or other-who have Obama’s distinctive portfolio of talents…He transcends the racial divide so effortlessly that it seems reasonable to expect that he can bridge all the other divisions-and answer the impossible questions-plaguing American public life.
Well. We certainly have seen the exact opposite manifested during the past sixteen months – ours is a nation that has never been more divided.
Mattera writes:
Young people are consumers of information. They’re not always up to speed on the activist nature of the media-old or new. They have better things to worry about, such as school and family. Unfortunately, that means they have a big red zombie target on their foreheads. During the 2008 election, World News Tonight anchor Charlie Gibson asked his colleague George Stephanopoulos, ‘How do you run against hope?’ With a compliant, fawning, and sycophantic press corps. That’s how, Charlie.
Mattera writes about social media, foreign policy, global warming, and health care. In a chapter about the economy, he writes about “The Five Economic Lies Liberals Tell and Sell to Obama Zombies in Training.” He notes that “Thanks to the Obama Zombies, we are now trillions more in debt. They swallowed hook, line, and sinker” all five of the lies.
He closes with “A Six-Point Battle Plan for Awakening Obama Zombies from Their Brainless Slumber.” He admits it’s going to be “an uphill battle”:
Smashing the Obama cult is going to take a united effort.
Can we awaken our generation of Obama Zombies?
