Matt Barber Discusses ‘The New Tolerance’ on D. James Kennedy Ministries’ ‘Truths that Transform’ TV

BarbWire Founder/Editor-in-Chief Matt Barber recently appeared on Truths that Transform with host (and D. James Kennedy Ministries President and CEO), Dr. Frank Wright.

Matt relates the catalyst for his current career, his 2004 op-ed “Intolerance Will Not Be Tolerated,” which elicited a complaint from the homosexual activist organization, the Human Rights Campaign. Subsequently, Barber found himself without a job because of the clout of Big Homo Bully HRC.

A former undefeated heavyweight boxer, Matt was never one to shrink from a fight and used the jobless situation to re-route his career and entered the culture war “ring.”

Matt, like many people of faith in modern day America, discovered first hand the new and not improved meaning of “tolerance”: The Left is stellar at seizing perfectly good words (gay, tolerance, choice) and redefining. The Leftist Lexicon is chock full of words with new and unorthodox meanings with which they indoctrinate school kids and others throughout the nation.

Watch and listen as Dr. Wright and Matt Barber talk about the “intolerance of the NEW tolerance.”

As written at DJamesKennedy.org:

Our modern society claims to hold no virtue in higher esteem than that of “tolerance.” But ironically, this so-called tolerance is used as a weapon to silence and marginalize Christians.

This new tolerance is actually a mask for  intolerance. Organizations and churches that advocate biblical morality are in the crosshairs in America in a way that’s never been true before. It’s amazing that we live in an era when mainstream biblical morality—that springs from the worldview this nation was founded upon—can be slandered as being hateful. As the Apostle John tells us, “[T]his is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”

The good news of Christ includes His lordship over every area of life, and true gospel proclamation will extend to moral issues. As the apostles and early church fathers found, the sinful world reacts negatively—and often violently—to biblical truth. This is not a sign that we are doing something wrong, but that we’re doing something right. Let us ask for God’s strength and courage as we declare life-saving truth to a culture that’s embracing death.
