Ya think? The conservatives’ and yes — school reform movement’s — failure in the information war cannot be disputed. Here are two articles that show just how big a failure it has been:
Millennial Cluelessness About Communism’s Massacres Demonstrates the Need for School Choice
By Jarrett Stepman
American education is failing thousands of students every year. But this crisis is not just about poor scores in math and reading. It is a deeper failure, leaving entire generations of Americans without the most basic knowledge of the country’s past and its civic institutions.
As The Daily Signal reported, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation’s first “Annual Report on U.S. Attitudes Towards Socialism” showed that just 42 percent of millennials view capitalism favorably compared to 64 percent of Americans over 65.
Perhaps more disturbingly, a third of millennials believe that more people were killed under former President George W. Bush than under notorious Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, and just 37 percent of millennials had a “very unfavorable” view of communism.
These findings are merely the latest in a pattern of documented cluelessness on the part of the American population about history and civics—even among those with college degrees. This failure to teach citizens puts America’s future at risk and puts us out of step with the vision of the Founding Fathers.

Survey Finds High Support For Communism Among Millennials
A new study finds young people champion communism, Karl Marx, and Bernie Sanders, even more than previously reported.

History repeats itself, first as tragedy, the second as farce. — Karl Marx
If anyone needed new evidence that millennials have been deprived of a basic education, a new survey provides it with findings about their high acceptance rates of mass-murder-enabling ideologies such as socialism and communism.
Today, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) released a unique “Annual Report on U.S. Attitudes towards Socialism,” gauging Americans’ attitudes toward socialism, communism, and related ideas. Data firm YouGov conducted the polling, which informed much of the report. We’ve known millennials had a thing for Bernie Sanders’ brand of socialism for a while, but these numbers show a generation sadly misinformed about the historical and present realities of life under communism and socialism.
“An emerging generation of Americans have little understanding of the collectivist system and its dark history,” said Marion Smith, VOC’s executive director. “Unfortunately, this report, which we intend to release on an annual basis, confirms this worrisome impression.”
