‘No Evidence’ Against Kavanaugh

“No evidence” — no surprise. Here is a news release from Liberty Counsel:

WASHINGTON, D.C — The Senate Judiciary Committee has released a 414-page report on the various investigations involving claims of sexual misconduct against U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The report, which includes 53 exhibits, explains that the investigations produced “no evidence” to back up the charges against him.

The Senate Judiciary Committee’s report states, “After an extensive investigation that included the thorough review of all potentially credible evidence submitted and interviews of more than 40 individuals with information relating to the allegations, including classmates and friends of all those involved, Committee investigators found no witness who could provide any verifiable evidence to support any of the allegations brought against Justice Kavanaugh. In other words, following the separate and extensive investigations by both the Committee and the FBI, there was no evidence to substantiate any of the claims of sexual assault made against Justice Kavanaugh.”

Senator Charles Grassley, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said: “This was a serious and thorough investigation that left no stone unturned in our pursuit of the facts. In the end, there was no credible evidence to support the allegations against the nominee.”

The report notes that the committee has referred several individuals to the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for making false statements against Kavanaugh. The committee is investigating former FBI employee Monica McLean for allegedly urging accuser Christine Blasey Ford’s best friend to change her statement disputing Ford’s account of an alleged sexual assault. Chairman Grassley has also referred Munro-Leighton, who admitted that her charge was just a “ploy” designed “to grab attention” and derail Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Julie Swetnick and her attorney Michael Avenatti have also been referred for criminal investigation.

Liberty Counsel’s Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “I am pleased that Chairman Grassley is serious about holding people responsible for lying to Congress under oath and smearing the name of a good man and his family. It’s pathetic that there has not been one politician or media source apologize for promoting these lies. The disappearance of ethics among some elected officials and the media is disturbing. It is shocking to see how far some will go to destroy a man and his family by inventing salacious allegations devoid of any truth. I am pleased that the investigation has cleared Justice Kavanaugh,” said Staver.
