Some people saw it on election night 2012: Barack Obama coming out to give his victory speech…and what’s that expression on his face? I wasn’t alone in thinking I saw a little disappointment. Maybe he liked the idea of escaping the White House after one term — and the messes he’d created or failed to fix could then be blamed on a President Romney. Barry, I mean Barack, certainly acts at times (some would say often) like an AWOL executive. Nevertheless, thanks to an inept Mitt Romney and a lot of low information voters, we’re now in the sixth year of Obama’s work to fundamentally transform the United States.
The above headline belongs to a post by Matt Lewis at The Telegraph, a publication based in the UK. Lewis is very harsh on poor Barack. Maybe this is what Obama saw coming that November twenty months ago — the curse of the second term.

The trailers were great, but the movie was horrible.
Six years in, that’s the general consensus on the Obama presidency. Having ridden a wave of “hope and change” to the White House, President Barack Obama has failed to deliver on his huge box office, err, ballot box expectations.
Just how bad is it? Since it is summer “blockbuster” season, I’ll explain thusly: There’s a difference between being bad and being most awesomely bad. You and I probably never even hear of the worst movies made. They are forgotten, not mocked. But the truly disastrous flops – the Water Worlds and Ishtars of the world – are the movies that come with huge budgets and huge expectations.
Obama fits the latter category – extremely talented and hyped, but ultimately, unsatisfying. True, I’ve been making this case for a long time – but now, there’s evidence.
A Quinnipiac poll released in America this week has Obama ranked as the “worst president” since World War II. […] [A] majority surveyed also said “the nation would be better off” had Mitt Romney won presidency.
Lewis also writes this:
[I]t’s becoming clear that Obama has lost interest in being president and now looks like a prisoner of the job. If the Obama presidency was a movie, even the president’s now shuffling for the exit. It’s time to roll credits.
Matt Lewis isn’t the only one picking on Obama, of course. Ace of Spades HQ was particularly mean while commenting on the Quinnipiac poll. Here is their headline (albeit edited): Quinnipiac: Plurality of Public Now Says Obama Is An [Expletive deleted].
Before getting into the poll, I’ll note why I care. True, Obama isn’t running again. And so this poll doesn’t mean anything in particular for the future.
However, a large segment of the American public has been gaslit for the past seven years, fed a never-ending stream of false claims and ludicrous boasts about the leader of a demogoguic and frightening Cult of Personality.

Perhaps America has learned some hard-won wisdom from its folly. Perhaps there will not be a Next Charismatic Cult of Personality Hero on a White Horse, at least for a generation.
Perhaps Obama will become a shorthand for a dreadful folly, like “Ozymandias” or “Icarus.”
I could scarcely imagine a man more deserving of such a fate as the Failed God Obama.
Someone else put it this way: “I think English needs a new verb — to Obama, meaning to entirely screw everything up owing to incompetence and arrogance.
