Years ago I enjoyed Malcolm Gladwell’s book “The Tipping Point” and evidently he has a new one coming out and this talk is related to it. I post it here for two reasons. 1) It’s fun when pop culture intellectuals treat the Bible as non-fiction. 2) His point in this talk applies perfectly to the battle those of us face who support the vision of the Founding Fathers as articulated in the Declaration and Constitution. While some things look lost (or you might say ‘beyond the tipping point’) — they might not be.
Here’s the text introducing the short talk from YouTube:
It’s a classic underdog tale: David, a young shepherd armed only with a sling, beats Goliath, the mighty warrior. The story has transcended its biblical origins to become a common shorthand for unlikely victory. But, asks Malcolm Gladwell, is that really what the David and Goliath story is about?
