llinois State Senator hosts mock assassination of President Trump

By Doug Ibendahl reports on what’s becoming more common on the left — the promotion of violence via mock assassination:

Illinois State Senator Martin Sandoval hosted a golf outing on Friday where at least some of his guests participated in an obscene mock assassination of the President of the United States.

The participants were so proud of their work, they took photos.

The disturbing incitement to violence happened during Senator Sandoval’s $250 per person political fundraiser at Klein Creek Golf Club in Winfield, Illinois.

Sandoval dubs the event: “The Cirque du Sandoval: MAS Golf Clásico.”

Sandoval is of course a Democrat. His state senate district covers the Southwest Side of Chicago and parts of other municipalities in suburban western Cook County, including Cicero and Burbank.

Mark Maxwell, Capitol Bureau Chief and Anchor at WCIA, the CBS affiliate in Champaign, Illinois, broke this story Saturday on Twitter.

Maxwell followed-up on his story with responses from Senator Sandoval:

“The incident that took place is unacceptable. I don’t condone violence toward the President or anyone else. I apologize that something like this happened at my event.”

And from Governor J.B. Pritzker:

“As our nation grapples with the epidemic of gun violence, purposely pointing a fake gun at anyone is insensitive and wrong. I condemn actions like the ones displayed in the pictures because they lack the civility our politics demands.”

Note of course, no actual apology specifically to President Trump and his family in those weak boilerplate, cover-your-ass statements.

And of course, no directive to others in their party to stop it with all the hate.

Yes, I’m sure Sandoval and Pritzker are sorry. Sorry that once again the Democratic Party has been caught red-handed trying to normalize hate and violence against the President and his supporters.

And I’m sure that Martin Sandoval is especially sorry that his chums are stupid enough to pose for pictures inciting violence against the President of the United States.
